Best Foot Forward: World Balance Invictus
New shoe drop from World Balance and boy, this one looks straight up fire, I decided to cop a pair when I found out that they were already available at the World Balance store in Trinoma.

For a quick rundown, it features a mesh upper with leather and suede panels for that retro vibe, especially this time where "dad shoes" are very common. When I saw the shoe circulating the web a couple of days back, it really caught my attention and in fact I have decided that I'll pick up a pair once it releases. As for the colorway, there are 2 other colorways that dropped together with this one. One has an all-black with volt hit on the heel area and another one has a grey base. This one I like the most because the orange and blue accents really stand out. This looks really good if you decide to just wear a plain top and jeans because all the attention will be focused on the shoe that you are wearing.
For cushioning, EVA foam was used together with Bounce Pad insole system. The foam is soft which is nice because you wouldn't feel to much fatigued because the foam they used isn't dense. The Bounce Pad adds some step-in comfort so this one helps too. On a side note, there are some paint bleeding on the midsole particularly the blue color. This is just an isolated case and it doesn't affect the performance of the shoe. Of course, this is not obvious with other colorways because they have have a basic color blocking compared to this one.
The outsole is made up of solid rubber with herringbone traction pattern. I have no complaints with their rubber outsole since it's really durable. In terms of fit, I suggest you try them in stores because sizing could be a bit tricky. I am usually size 9 but for this particular model, a size 8 fits me well with enough allowance. You can also use the euro sizing since I find this helpful when shopping for kicks at World Balance.
For Php 2,199 this is a great deal if you ask me. A great-looking shoe which would surely attract some attention particularly this colorway in my opinion. The comfort is also good especially for everyday use. Big props to the whole team at World Balance for coming up with this design and hopefully they continue to release great kicks in the future. These are available now at World Balance stores as well as some of their retail partners.
