Kyrie's budget model shoe is now available
Kyrie Irving's budget model kicks, the Kyrie Flytrap is now available here in the Philippines. It has some similarities with the Kyrie 4 especially its shape and the outsole but the difference would be the materials used. The Flytrap is made up textile mesh with some coating for some durability. It doesn't have a traditional tongue but a wrap-like entry system and there is a band in the midfoot area mixed with adaptive lacing system to secure midfoot containment. I think the fit/lockdown will be the shoe's greatest attribute. Cushioning is made up of phylon midsole with a forefooot Zoom unit and it looks like it is the hex-shaped Zoom unit. I am not 100% sure on this since I haven't tried them in store so I hope I'm wrong because it would be a bummer. If they really want to cut it don't please use the rectangular one instead. The outsole also is beastly although it is a combination of solid and translucent rubber outsole. I've spotted this pair at Toby's Sports in UP Town Center so in case you are looking for these, then you can go there to buy a pair which retails at Php 4,195.
If the out sole is translucent, does that automatically means less traction? TIA!
ReplyDeleteNo, most of the time (not every time) what happens is that the translucent rubber attracts more dust. When there's dust it smoothens the outsole surface making floor grip less efficient.
DeleteIs there a date for new colorway? TIA
ReplyDeleteSo far, I haven't seen any new colorways in stores.
