World Balance X Secret Fresh Collab Launch
I was invited a couple of days ago for the launch of World Balance's latest collaboration with Secret Fresh. I was able to speak with Big Boy Cheng as well as World Balance's Brad Chong on the vid down below. Personally, I found this collab a match made in heaven just because of how World Balance was able to do a collaboration with Big Boy, who is a known sneakerhead and art collector in the Philippines. With the Philippine sneaker culture growing roots into different fields primarily in athletics, fashion, and now art, more and more Pinoys are starting to notice that kicks aren't only here to provide comfort to your feet, but also a way to express yourself. (FUN FACT: Some people who copped the shoe made some personal touches on the shoe).
Now for the shoe itself. Three colorways are available now: red, blue, and white (which I copped). The overall silhouette is very urban and I really love the velcro strap. Materials are primarily made of canvas and suede which feels premium. They also added a tag featuring their I-Sperm logo which dates back during the store's days in Sgt. Esguerra in Quezon City. The logo can be seen on the side panels as well as on the heel area. After learning more about the design, I told to myself that the collaboration was very well planned incorporating design elements that pays homage to the brand Secret Fresh. When it comes to comfort, the insole is thick and comfy. Overall, I am satisfied with the build of the whole shoe and the colorway that I picked. In fact, I won't be rocking the shoe anytime soon just because I will be preserving it for my big day next year.
This is a hot commodity, guys and I suggest you grab a pair now either at the Secret Fresh Gallery in San Juan or at various World Balance stores. The shoe retails for Php 2,299.
