Puma have been firing all cylinders by keeping its visibility in the basketball performance shoe category. With the likes of Clyde Court and Puma Legacy, this silhouette could be a better representation of bridging the old and the new. The Puma Clyde Hardwood really looks like one of those classic silhouettes from Puma at a quick glance or from afar. However, once you look closely, you will see its construction on the upper made from a combination of textile and leather. As for the look itself, it kinda looks plain and I like it. It would easily pass as an off-court shoe due to its low-cut profile and of course since this is intended for basketball, the support pieces are present like the heel clip and that rubber wrapped in the midsole to stabilize the foam. Speaking of foam, the Puma Clyde Hardwood utilizes what they call PROFOAM. It's an EVA derivative but with great rebounding and energy return properties according their site. I have no experience with the foam as of yet and I hope it is better than the one implemented on the Puma Legacy which feature Puma's Hybrid cushion. Underneath, you can see a solid rubber outsole with a modified traction pattern of the Puma classic shoes at the rear with multi-directional herringbone pattern on the forefoot. It feels thick enough so I hope it plays well. Three colorways are available now (all are nice in my opinion) at the Puma store in Trinoma retailing for Php 6,230.
