BEST FOOT FORWARD: World Balance X Smiley
World Balance is on a roll doing collabs increasing brand awareness in the process. I was surprised that they didn't use the Kaia silhouette (collab is avail for women's size and youth size only). But on the other hand, it is okay since we don't want the Kaia or Invictus to be too diluted being used on every collab, just like what they did with the Star Wars collab. I mean the Invictus and Kaia is nice don't get me wrong and I have lots of them that's how I like the shoe, but using other silhouettes gives the brand more options on what silhouettes are effective on certain collabs keeping the possibilities open.
Going back to the said collaboration, giving it a nice packaging (box and even paper bag) adds plus points if you ask me. They even include a nice card which makes you feel special. Whether you get the womens or the youth size, you will get a different kind of paper bag. What we got is this silhouette featuring a canvas upper. There are other silhouettes (4 to choose from) together with fanny pack and some shirts. We (wife) got the one with canvas because of its raw look. She is into this kind of material and also you the look is very raw and you can easily pair it with almost anything. It is somewhat durable since it is canvas and there are very simple details to represent the collab but they were able to still give justice to it. I really like the embossed smiley stitching on the lateral side as well as underneath the translucent outsole. The heel area has an iridescent effect which adds a nice touch to it. There are also brandings on the BouncePad insole so just like I said, subtle details but effective in my opinion. I don't think I would want a large smiley design, this one suits me well as it is pleasing to the eye.
Also, the pricepoint is very nice tagged at Php 1,899 with the youth sizes being Php 50 less, so this is a win-win situation where you get a brand collab shoe or even apparel without breaking your wallet.
