BEST FOOT FORWARD: Secret Fresh X World Balance Invictus "More Good Less Evil"

 

Here is what Secret Fresh and World Balance have in store for us this month of October which is also DJ Bigboy Cheng's birth month (and also mine). I had the chance to interview him some time ago and he told me that he like the Invictus silhouette because of its modern look and comfort. This time around, the "More Good Less Evil" will come to the Invictus which was first seen on the I-Sperm, another collab shoe between Secret Fresh and World Balance. That shoe had a very predominant purple color and this one still had it although less which can be seen on the top eyelet, on the heel part of the midsole and underneath the TPU plate. Aside from that, they added more colors which is a blend of subtle and colors that gave an extra pop. The yellow and green shade which can be see on the side is made from TPU, which I think is a first time. They utilized leather, suede and patent leather on other Invictus colorways and this addition is very great especially that these are colored. Yellowing due to age on these kind of materials wouldn't be distinct. The More Good Less Evil text is still present which you can see on the lateral part of the upper with the same font as the first one.

Another thing worth noticing is the heel tab as well as the laces having a reflective material on it. It gives that extra bump in the style aspect of the shoe. When you illuminate it with a camera flash for example, it does shine. Really, really nice! For cushioning, EVA foam midsole together with Bounce Pad Insole system was used and I still think that this is the best attribute of the Invictus. It is comfy underneath, somewhat fluffy which I really love wearing especially when I know that I would be spending a long time out, this would be one of my go-to kicks. Underneath is a TPU plate for torsional support together with a milky white gum outsole. For sizing, I still recommend going with your EUR size when it comes to World Balance sneakers. No official release date for the More Good Less Evil Invictus but retail price will be Php 2,699 and will come in limited quantities.
