kixspotted: Puma Disc Rebirth
I've spotted some kicks at the Puma store in Trinoma which caught my attention. Dubbed as the Puma Disc Rebirth, while it may look like a normal basketball shoe, the name suggest its main selling point which is Puma's disc system. Replacing the traditional laces, the disc system from Puma is composed of wires that replaces the traditional laces. There is a ratchet at the top of the collar where you turn to right if you want to tighten the fit and to the left if you want to loosen it. There is a midfoot strap as well just in case you want a more custom fit. For the upper material, textile, leather and plastics where used which is nice since Puma's basketball line nowadays use textiles or leather primarily, so this mix of materials are always welcome to appeal different types of consumers. For cushioning, ProFoam is present on the midsole which according to their website is a blend of a high-rebound EVA foam. I think their latest models utilize this kind of cushion tech as well, so if you have tried that cushioning and enjoyed them, then you might also enjoy these as well. The rubber is made from solid rubber with diamond shape patterns all over.
Three colorways are available at the Puma store in Trinoma which retails for Php 9,270. A bit pricey if you ask me, but others would really dig them particularly if you are a fan of their disc system. Puma is steadily showing up on the radar in terms of visibility in basketball performance and as a basketball sneaker enthusiast, this is a good sign because it just shows that people are starting to look for options when they are looking for a basketball shoe to hoop in or even to wear casually.
