Best Foot Forward: World Balance Invictus Reveal

 

Hello everyone, Happy New Year! Hope everything is fine and I wish you all a safe, blessed, and prosperous 2022. Now, World Balance started the year ready to launch a lot great kicks this year starting with the Invictus Reveal. I have written a blog post some days ago with them giving some teasers on the next big thing for the Invictus silhouette. Now, here is the shoe and I am here to share you my thoughts on them. If there is one thing I can say with regards to World Balance's first release of the year, I would say that they are starting the year right. Not only that they showcased their top lifestyle silhouette (at least for me) but they are going all out with the use of different materials that gave this silhouette more character. Yes, the things that we love with the materials are still present which is leather and suede, but they add a ripstop-like material to make lightweight aside from the use of mesh panel which you can see on the tongue. There are reflective materials used on the shoe which can be seen on the forefoot area, the laces, as well as the heel part of the shoe (including the heel pulltab). The Invictus Reveal text can be seen on the lateral side of the shoe, it is stamped which for me looks beautiful. It is subtle, yet it complements the wow factors which I mentioned earlier.

Now, another great addition is that the midsole is glow-in-the-dark. Not only that, but World Balance stated that the foam is made from their Trampolite foam. It is lightweight and have a low-to-ground feel. The Bounce Pad Insole system is still present which adds another layer of step-in comfort. Overall, I can say that this is a good move by World Balance to use different techs and who knows, we might see them being utilized in their other shoes be it lifestyle or performance. Going back to the midsole,  underneath it is a TPU plate for torsional support together with a milky white translucent rubber outsole. We are used to seeing glow-in-the-dark outsoles so them making the midsole glow-in-the-dark instead of the outsole gives another bump in style points and this is more noticeable if you choose to cop and display them in your shoe collection.
