#kixspotted Nike Air More Uptempo "Split"
I've spotted some retro kicks from Nike and this time it is from the Uptempo line. The Nike Air More Uptempo was a popular shoe back then due to it's full-length Air Max setup together with the large letters A-I-R written on upper. Of course, some NBA players wore them as well particularly Scottie Pippen which I think a lot consider this as one of his signature kicks. Back to the present and we are seeing them again after being released not so long ago, but this time having a split color blocking treatment. Predominantly in black, with leather panel where the word A-I-R is spelled out is decked out in red and blue color in the lateral and medial side of the shoe respectively. This pays tribute to his tenure with the Chicago Bulls as well as playing in Team USA. Even some parts of the midsole as well as the heel portion have a split color blocking effect to it which is nice. There is Pippen's logo at the back of the shoe and tech specks are pretty much the same which means the full-length Air Max is still there, the elastic bands in the midfoot are still there, the lacing system and even the outsole pattern remains unchanged so it does really give you a sense of nostalgia. The quality of the leather is good enough for its price for the most part and while these kicks are being used casually nowadays, I think you can still play ball in them for short duration just for nostalgia's sake especially if you grew up in the 90's like me. However, since these are built like tanks, the weight of the shoe will start to creep up on you and you might want to swap kicks after some time if you want to keep playing longer that day. You can get them now at Capital Trinoma for Php 8,595.
