Best Foot Forward Nike Lebron NXXT Gen
This is a somewhat modified version of the Lebron XX which is Lebron James 20th signature shoe. It shares some of the design language as the official 20s but with some modifications particularly in the cushioning. But first, let's talk about the shoe's upper which is made from mesh. It has multiple layers to add some durability but since it is textile, it is lightweight for the most part and also fairly breathable. The most notable change in the foam carrier here is the use of a more standard phylon foam compared to the Lebron 20s Cushlon. The phylon is on the dense side which makes you feel the cushion tech which is a large volume Zoom Air in the heel and Zoom Turbo in the forefoot. You can feel both Zoom bags underneath on a firmer ride which for me is okay. Does changing the foam carrier makes much difference? I would say from my personal opinion, not much. In fact I wouldn't say it is very much drastic. Maybe this could be a good option that if you want a firmer ride, then the NXXT Gen is for you. If you want that plush feel of the Cushlon, then the Lebron 20 might be your choice. Either way, you still get the benefits of the Zoom Air in both forefoot and heel. The outsole has a story-telling traction pattern which is a city mapping of Akron and while I have the XDR version, I think that this would be more of an indoor shoe than an outdoor shoe. Sure the XDR rubber could add some life on the rubber, but I guess it would all depend on how frequent you play as well as the surface of the outdoor court and of course your playing habits or tendencies.
