This is World Balance's latest volleyball shoe, the WB Court Striker. It is good to know that they are also looking other sport to provide a more fitting shoe. While there are some people who use basketball shoes to play in volleyball (particularly lowtops) having a proper volleyball shoes is always welcome, right? Going to the shoe's upper, mesh material can be seen with fuse panels, World Balance is calling this fuse layer as Hotmelt which adds durability to the upper without adding too much weight. It also lessens break-in time since fuse or thin TPU (plastic layers) are malleable. There are various ventilation points throughout the shoe which makes it breathable. It is kinda minimalist but the Hotmelt adds some performance benefits in my opinion. I think World Balance did not want to make it look too busy in terms of design. You can see the various WB brandings particularly in the tongue and on the lateral side. Their midsole uses an EVA foam which extends a bit on the side to cage the foot for lateral movements. A new insole which they are calling Levilite is a bit fluffy but not much. I think this is to make your foot mold easily on the insole so you get a more low-to-ground feel. Volleyball is a sport which requires short burst of speed in movements (also like badminton and maybe pickleball), so you do not want to lose much reaction time and I think this shoe might be helpful. As of the moment, I think these are in women's size and maybe based on the reception, who knows maybe they might produce in mens sizes. The WB Court Striker retails for Php 2,699 and is available now at World Balance Trinoma and online.
